Renowned for being the home of the legendary figure, Robin Hood, Nottinghamshire is perfect for a self-catering city break.

Robin Hood 

Famously known for robbing the rich to feed the poor, Robin Hood’s stories have been retold down through generations making Nottingham forever associated with the hero. Celebrating his outlaw ways, The Robin Hood Festival is hosted every year at the setting of Sherwood Forest from 3-9th of August. Live the legend on the Robin Hood Town Tour (joined by the real Robin Hood!) or explore the Church in which Robin Hood and Maid Marian supposedly got married.

Shopping 

Nottinghamshire is home to some of the best shopping in the UK including independent boutiques for those items not available in the high street stores. Venturing into the centre of Nottinghamshire will present you with an array of choice when it comes to indulging in a shopping experience. Highly reputable for its vintage fashion and big name retailers, Nottinghamshire is perfect for those top fashion brands as well as the small. The city boasts pedestrianised streets and fantastic transport system including a tram which makes getting around a breeze!

Days Out

Nottinghamshire County Show is a fabulous day out with the family! With spectacular displays on the ground and in the air, the show takes place at Newark Showground covering 126 acres of glorious outdoor and indoor exhibition space. Featuring foodie events at the Food Experience Marquee to performing daring mountain bike stunts, the kids will be wanting to stay out until the late hours!

Rich heritage awaits you in the form of Newark Castle. Famous for its inclusion in the English Civil War, the castle sits within the picturesque town of Newark, only a short way from the Nottingham County Show.

If county shows aren’t your scene, but adrenalin pumping outdoor sports are, then Go Ape is for you! Go swinging through the treetops like Tarzan or jump aboard an all terrain, electric Segway for a unique experience that all the family can enjoy.
