If beautiful scenery and stunning gardens are what you are after, try Cliveden or the landscaped gardens at Stowe. There are plenty of walking opportunities elsewhere in the Chiltern Hills, with marked paths through woods and fields, and walking maps available locally. If you are looking for something more adventurous, there is a "Go Ape!" centre in Wendover woods, which is fun for adults and children over 10 years old.
