The local village is extremely picturesque and recently won the coveted title of ‘England’s Prettiest Village’. There are long winding Devon roads and beautiful thatched cottages, and of course the world famous '"cream teas"! The Branscombe area Believed to be the longest village in the country, it sweeps along a spectacular valley past colourful cottages down to the sea. Branscombe has two main historic working buildings, The Old Bakery and The Forge which are popular attractions, and close to the National Trust Tea Rooms too! Life in Branscombe centres around the two pubs, The Fountain Head is a CAMRA pub & is a must for the discerning beer drinker and The Masons Arms, award winning for it’s consistently wonderful food in the heart of Branscombe village. The surrounding countryside is a walker’s delight. The coastal path has impressive views and takes you to Sidmouth to the west and the historic fishing village of Beer to the east. Due to the unique location, the only way to get to the home is by road. Branscombe village can be reached by three roads, which lead off the main A3052 coast road. As soon as you leave the main road the small road becomes very windy and narrow. Please drive very carefully! Once you enter the village (about 3 miles from the main road) you will reach a hotel/pub called the ‘Masons Arms’ (For those of you using Sat nav, the postcode to the ‘Masons Arms’ is EX12 3DJ as the chalet doesn’t have a postcode)there is a turning opposite with a sign saying ‘Beach’, turn here and take the left hand fork. The road does rise, but it will take you down to the beach. Go past the no entry sign and through the ford, follow the road to the left approx. 15 metres, where there is a security gate. The code for the gate is on key fob. Drive slowly along the shingle road. ‘Snipe’ is the second chalet from the far end. Parking for two cars is allocated to the home, any additional cars must obtain a permit from the reception office situated behind the beach restaurant.
